Students residing in The Islands are served by the Gilbert Unified School District and attend The Island Elementary, Mesquite Jr High, and Mesquite High School.
Covering 1.5 square miles, The Islands community has real estate that includes not only custom waterfront homes but also smaller single-family homes and townhouses as well. The northern lake of the community is surrounded by the sub-community Tres Vistas and Shores at The Islands. Tres Vistas is comprised primarily of custom homes.
