The Villages in Queen Creek is a master-planned housing community that has been developed around the Las Colinas Golf Club which features an 18-hole golf course designed by Mike Asmundson. The Villages sits at the base of the San Tan Mountains in one of the most coveted development zones in Maricopa County. The first non-native settlers in these parts were the Spanish, who arrived in the mid-16th century. Throughout the 1700s, Spanish missionaries began to settle in the region now known as modern-day Queen Creek. Before the Mexican-American War, Arizona had been a part of the state of Sonora, Mexico. Nevertheless, after the war, Mexico ceded a significant portion to the United States, while the rest was handed over after the Gadsden Purchase in 1853. After that, homesteaders from all over the country moved to the area and tried to tame the desert wilderness. Unfortunately for most of them, the harsh desert conditions forced many to give up. Those who are most credited for planting the seeds of development were men such as J.O. Power and his brother Bernard Power; Jasper Sossaman who owned a large acreage in Queen Creek; Charles Rittenhouse, founder of the Queen Creek Farms Company; and Johnny and Margaret Crismon, founders of the first school in Queen Creek. The town was named for an ore mine a hundred miles away called the “Silver Queen” mine.

Furthermore, Phoenix is only 40 minutes away via US-60 West, providing easy access to vital destinations such as the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport which is located at 3400 E Sky Harbor Boulevard, the University of Phoenix at 1625 W Fountainhead Parkway, and the Phoenix Zoo located at 455 N Galvin Parkway. In addition to that, you have Biltmore Fashion Park located at 2502 E Camelback Road in Phoenix with anchor stores such as the Apple Store, Ann Taylor, Macy’s, and Ralph Lauren.
